Hamilton County is a county located in the U.S. state of Florida. Its county seat is Jasper, Florida. Hamilton County was created in 1827 and was named for Alexander Hamilton, first United States Secretary of the Treasury. Hamilton County has a total area of approximately 519 square miles of which 99% is land and 1% water. As of the 2000 census, there were 13,327 people, 4,161 households, and 2,995 families residing in Hamilton County, FL.
